Chris & Amy Pier One Sydney

Weddings

I got the callout to shoot Chris & Amy’s beautiful wedding not long before our move to Brisbane. Unfortunately we didn’t really get a chance to catch up for beer/coffee before the big day – which goes against my standard operating procedure big time.
It’s just such a personal thing, wedding photography. You’re there for all the important moments – usually almost always one of the first to see you in your dress, hanging out with your closest friends, you seeing your Dad for the first time (which always ends in tears!) and you’re basically with the bridal party the whole day.

This wasn’t a drama with Amy & Chris – two of the nicest kids you’ll ever meet – and of course we clicked straight away.

A beautiful day in one of my favourite wedding venues in Sydneytown.

Big shoutout to my second photographer, Oscar Colman Photography.

Rick & Erin Kangaroo Valley
Rick & Erin's epic day. Epic really only tells half the story - this was a day that had everything. On a beautiful cool winter's day in the Kangaroo Valley, about 2 hours west of Sydney, Rick & Ez shared a day to remember. So many highlights... Some of the funniest vows I've ever heard (including a mic drop!), their dog LJ as ring bearer, (he even barked on cue during the kiss!) and that's without even mentioning the HILARIOUS speeches from his brothers and mates, topped off finally by a shoey from Ez's shoe before the cake cutting. 10/10. Rick & Ez are good friends of mine, and to be invited to be a part of their day is a spe ...

Luke & Charlotte… the Wedding.
The great thing about weddings is that no two are alike. I mean, the structure is always pretty standard, but it's the gold, unexpected moments that keep you coming back for more.  The moments that grab you when they happen - and you know they'll stick with you forever.  There's always at least one. As the photographer, I reckon I'm in a position to notice them a bit more - I'm always on the hunt for it.  And when they come, oh lordy... I do quite love that. Luke & Charlotte's wedding had quite a few.  If you know Luke like I do (he's my personal trainer & boot camp/gym instructor), he's the classic unassuming, quiet type - e ...

Kayleigh & Sean Hunter Valley
What a great day.  Sean & Kayleigh chose the beautiful Hunter Valley for their day, and this was my first time shooting in vineyards - something surprisingly, I hadn't had the chance to do.  After a spate of rainy weddings, I was definitely ready for some sunshine! Sean & Kayleigh's day was a little different to most - the ceremony was a small, intimate affair - only closest friends and family.  The twist - the reception later was actually disguised as their engagement party.  Genius.
